What changed?
The European Central Bank (ECB) will conduct two online workshops to explain the implementation of its Integrated Reporting Framework (IReF), which began its implementation phase on 1 October 2026. The first session on 22 October will cover the scope of the regulation, the institutions required to report, proportionality measures, and the timetable and transitional arrangements. The second session on 3 November will focus on the structure of reporting requirements, handling country‑specific rules, and the role of the Banks’ Integrated Reporting Dictionary (BIRD). Registration for the October workshop closes on 15 October, while the November session closes on 27 October. The ECB encourages stakeholders to register early and follow its LinkedIn channel for updates.
Why it matters
The workshops aim to standardise bank reporting, improving transparency and consistency across the European banking sector, which is vital for regulatory oversight and market stability.
