Hong Kong Conducts Second Cross-Boundary Port Stress Test

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government conducted a second cross-boundary stress test at the Huanggang Port in collaboration with relevant Shenzhen units. Over 20,000 civil servants participated in the drill, which focused on testing peak carrying capacity by increasing passenger and vehicular flows. The test included joint one-stop vehicle lanes for vehicle clearance, with participating vehicles undergoing risk assessment, inspection, and clearance procedures. The drill also simulated scenarios such as passengers disembarking and proceeding to immigration clearance, as well as vehicles being selected for inspections. The test aimed to assess the port's capacity under sustained ultra-high passenger flows and identify areas for improvement in passenger and vehicular traffic management, emergency response arrangements, and collaborative mechanisms.
