Hong Kong Selects Eight Enterprises as 'New Industrialisation Elite Enterprises'
WHY IT MATTERS
The selection of these enterprises marks an important initiative in advancing the integrated development of education, technology, talent, and industry in Hong Kong.
What happened
The Hong Kong Government has announced the inaugural list of 'New Industrialisation Elite Enterprises' under a nurturing scheme. Eight enterprises have been selected from a wide range of business sectors, including life and health technology, AI and robotics, and semiconductors.
The scheme aims to nurture leading enterprises in emerging and future industries for Hong Kong, enhancing the market recognition and visibility of the 'Made in Hong Kong' enterprise brand. The selected enterprises were assessed based on three core selection criteria: research and development capabilities, growth potential, and local contribution and ecosystem impact.
They will be awarded the honorary title of 'New Industrialisation Elite Enterprise' at an award presentation ceremony expected to be held before the end of this year.
