White House Launches 'Trump TV' on YouTube
WHY IT MATTERS
The launch of 'Trump TV' highlights the White House's efforts to bypass traditional media outlets and directly reach the public with its message.
What happened
The White House has launched a 24/7 YouTube livestream, dubbed 'Trump TV,' featuring reruns of President Donald Trump's speeches, bill signings, and other moments. This move comes after Trump banned CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House.
According to Kaelan Dorr, the White House's head of digital strategy, the administration will air Trump's 'greatest hits, unfiltered' on YouTube. Dorr stated that the press had inaccurately or not at all reported on the administration's accomplishments.
The White House had previously teased the launch of 'Trump TV' with several teasers. The livestream is now available on the White House's YouTube channel.
