Australia Deploys Additional Humanitarian Support to Nepal

What happened
The Australian Government has announced an additional $3 million in humanitarian assistance to Nepal, bringing the total support to $8 million. The funds will be used to provide emergency supplies, including hygiene kits and solar lighting solutions, to be delivered by the Australian Defence Force.
A team of 12 Australian response personnel, including crisis response, consular officers, and Australian Federal Police, are in Kathmandu to support the crisis response.
The Government of Nepal has requested assistance due to the devastating floods along the Nepal-China border, which have left 42 Australians unaccounted for.
