Adobe Lightroom Mobile Adds One‑Tap Open Eyes Feature
WHY IT MATTERS
The feature streamlines post‑shoot editing, saving time for mobile users and expanding Lightroom’s AI toolkit to match desktop capabilities.
What happened
Adobe has updated its Lightroom mobile app for iOS, iPadOS and Android to include a generative‑AI tool that can open closed eyes in photos with a single tap. When the app detects a person or a group with closed eyes, it automatically shows an Open Eyes Quick Action icon over the image, giving users instant access to the new feature.
The ability to restore open eyes has long been available in Adobe’s Photoshop Elements, but there the replacement image is sourced from another photo.
Lightroom’s new AI‑powered solution offers a more seamless, on‑device experience for mobile photographers looking to salvage otherwise great shots.
