Hong Kong Upgrades Public Services with AI-Powered 1823
WHY IT MATTERS
The upgrades aim to enhance government efficiency and optimise citizens' user experience with AI, with expected reductions in administrative work and manual data entry time.
What happened
The Hong Kong Government has launched four AI Efficacy Enhancement Projects to upgrade its 1823 public services. The projects include Call Assistant, which transcribes phone conversations and generates summaries, Email Extraction, which automatically extracts key case details from emails, Prioritisation of Departments' Replies, which flags high-priority cases, and the Dashboard initiative, which consolidates and presents case data.
The Digital Policy Office plans to launch the 1823 web application on the iAM Smart platform in the fourth quarter, replacing the existing mobile app.
The office will also develop two innovative AI services: the iAM Smart AI Assistant and AI Agents.
