Air Canada Drops 9‑Hour Transatlantic Route to Algiers

Air Canada announced it will no longer operate flights between Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Algiers, Algeria. All future services on the 9‑hour transatlantic corridor have been removed, ending the direct link that had served the Francophone market. The decision eliminates Air Canada’s direct presence between Canada’s largest French‑speaking region and North Africa. Passengers who previously relied on the nonstop flight will now need to seek alternative carriers or connecting itineraries to reach Algiers. The move reduces Air Canada’s footprint in the North African market and may prompt competitors to fill the gap.
