Air France Expands US Presence with New Routes, Drops Denver
WHY IT MATTERS
Air France's expansion in the US highlights the growing competition in the transatlantic market, with joint ventures between carriers allowing for coordinated schedules and fares.
What happened
Air France is growing its US network with new routes to San Diego and Nashville, while dropping its seasonal service to Denver. The airline will operate thrice-weekly flights from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport to both San Diego International Airport and Nashville International Airport, starting in May 2027.
The new routes will be flown with an Airbus A350-900, offering business, premium economy, extra-legroom economy, and economy seats. In a nod to the late singer Dolly Parton, the CDG-BNA route will use the flight number AF46, referencing the year of Parton's birth.
Meanwhile, Air France will not return to Denver International Airport in 2027, with capacity reallocated to other routes. United Airlines will begin new daily flights from Denver to CDG on May 27, 2027.
