What happened
Allegiant Air has announced the launch of nine new routes from Orlando Sanford International (SFB), its busiest hub. SFB, one of three airports serving Orlando, is surpassed only by Orlando International Airport (MCO) in traffic but leads Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB).
The airline’s presence is a key factor in the airport’s sustainability, with Allegiant accounting for 578 departing flights next month, the highest at any Orlando airport.
The new routes will expand Allegiant’s network from SFB, likely increasing passenger volumes and reinforcing the airport’s role as a major regional gateway.
