American Airlines Unveils Largest Admirals Club Yet at Charlotte Hub
WHY IT MATTERS
Charlotte passengers will gain a spacious, modern lounge that eases congestion and enhances comfort, reflecting American's commitment to improving travel experience at its second‑busiest hub.
What happened
American Airlines announced plans to build a sprawling 40,000‑square‑foot Admirals Club inside the main atrium of Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Construction will begin later this year, and the new lounge will be the biggest in the carrier’s network, surpassing even the expanded space in Dallas.
Centrally located on the mezzanine level, it will be easily reachable from concourses A, B, C, and a short walk from D, though a bit farther from E‑gates. The club will feature modern amenities such as shower suites, bars, and ample seating designed to give travelers more room to relax, work, and recharge.
American’s two existing Charlotte Admirals Clubs will remain open during construction, and the airline also plans a Flagship Lounge and a Provisions grab‑and‑go outpost. Charlotte is set to see a wave of new lounges in the coming years, including a Capital One Lounge, an American Express outpost, and Delta’s Sky Club.
