American Airlines' Refurbished Boeing 777-300ER Set for Takeoff with Luxe Suites

What happened
American Airlines' first refurbished Boeing 777-300ER will return to service on Wednesday evening, featuring the airline's new Flagship Suites and a total of 114 premium seats, the most on any plane operated by a U. S. airline.
The aircraft will sport 70 lie-flat seats, 10 more than before its makeover. However, the debut of this revamped 777 also marks the end of American's Flagship First cabin, its most exclusive premium seat, which will be phased out by November 19. The airline will soon fill more planes with business-class seats, offering more lie-flat seats for AAdvantage members.
The Flagship Suites, which first debuted last year, feature sliding privacy doors and new features. The refurbished 777 will operate on routes including New York City's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Buenos Aires, with additional planes to be retrofitted in the coming months.
