Android Adds Secure Login Migration Between Password Managers

Google has introduced a built‑in process that lets Android users move stored passwords from one manager to another without manual re‑entry. The feature works entirely on the device; both the source and destination apps must be installed and have the user’s credentials synced. To begin, the user opens the import option in the target app—its location varies, but in Google Password Manager it sits near the top under Settings. Selecting import triggers the new migration system, which transfers the data securely. The existing export function still produces an unencrypted CSV that can be imported into any app. Currently, the migration works with Google Password Manager, 1Password, Bitwarden, and Dashlane. The change streamlines switching providers while keeping passwords protected during transfer.
