Apple and LG Leak New HomeKit Features
WHY IT MATTERS
These new features could enhance the user experience for Apple Home users, providing easier access to device controls and setup processes.
What happened
A recent leak from a user named 'pdfu' on X reveals new details about Apple Home accessories from LG. The leaked features include an NFC-based 'Proximity Control' that allows users to access device controls through the iPhone's Dynamic Island by simply placing the phone close to it.
This feature is executed using the Matter protocol and appears to be specific to Apple Home.
The leak also mentions a 'tap to setup without power' pairing feature, which was previously shown in a separate leak.
