What happened
Apple has announced the HomePod Mini 2, a refreshed version of its compact smart speaker, now available for preorder at $149. The new model ships with the S10 chip, the same processor that powers the Apple Watch Series 10, and will support Siri AI after a future software update.
The speaker can be paired with Apple TV 4K to create a four‑speaker surround sound system, and it can also function as a speaker for a Mac computer that supports Wi-Fi 6E.
The HomePod Mini 2 is set to launch on Friday, October 30th.
