Severe Storm Claims One Life, Damages Homes in Misiones, Argentina

A violent weather event struck a rural area of San Pedro municipality in Misiones province on the afternoon of September 12, 2026. The storm, centered between Cruce Caballero (km 1072) and Piñalito Sur, caused one fatality and left several houses with severe structural damage, including partial collapses and roof explosions. Power lines were damaged, leading to outages of electricity and communications, while rural roads suffered significant harm. Police, municipal and provincial authorities are currently providing assistance and conducting damage assessments. More than 150 families have been directly affected by the incident.
