What happened
On September 5, 2026, the Nigerian Army Training Centre in Miango held a graduation ceremony for 924 members of the Borno State Forest Guards. The ceremony was presided over by Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu.
The guards have completed a rigorous training program designed to enhance their capacity to address banditry and other security challenges in Borno State.
The graduates are now ready to be deployed to strengthen local security forces and support community protection efforts across the region.
