Shanghai Launches Space‑Computing Hub to Bolster China’s Orbital Data Ecosystem

Shanghai has unveiled a dedicated space‑computing hub in its southwestern Songjiang district during an inaugural forum that gathered aerospace developers, semiconductor makers, AI specialists, cloud vendors, researchers and investors. The centre was launched on Sunday as part of China’s push to build an orbital data ecosystem and counter the United States in the commercial space race. The hub will provide a collaborative environment for domestic players that already operate in Shanghai’s growing space industry. By bringing together technology providers and investors, the initiative aims to accelerate the development of space‑based data services and strengthen China’s position in the global space economy.
