New Zealand Government Partners with Pasifika Festivals Aotearoa to Support Pasifika Youth

This programme aims to support the next generation of Pasifika leaders, helping them develop valuable skills and move into meaningful employment, which is crucial for the country's future workforce and economy.
What happened
The New Zealand Government has partnered with Pasifika Festivals Aotearoa to deliver the Pasifika Youth Producers Programme. The programme will provide 32 young people with practical skills, career exploration, and employment pathways.
The 16-week programme will support two pathways: one for young adults aged 18 to 24, and another for those aged 12 to 17. Participants will gain hands-on experience in areas such as event production, digital media, and entrepreneurship through placements at festivals and events across New Zealand.
The Government is investing $125,000, matched dollar-for-dollar by Creative New Zealand.
