Britain's Prince William Reveals Finalists for Earthshot Environmental Prize

Britain's Prince William has announced the 15 finalists for the 2026 Earthshot Prize, a conservation award created to support innovators addressing climate change, pollution, and habitat loss. The charity Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative is among the finalists, working to protect wildlife migration routes in the Rocky Mountains. The initiative collaborates with local people and governments to build overpasses, underpasses, and fencing to help animals cross busy roads. Other nominees include a project using artificial intelligence to track wildfires in Latin America and the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance, aiming to reduce carbon emissions from shipping. The winners will receive 1 million pounds and assistance in expanding their projects. Prince William launched the prize in 2020, inspired by John F. Kennedy's 'Moonshot' speech, with the goal of accelerating environmental innovation and 'repairing the planet' by 2030. The winners will be announced on November 17 during a televised awards show in Mumbai.
