Shenzhen Entrepreneur Earns $15,000 Monthly from Novel Itch‑Scratching Chain
WHY IT MATTERS
The venture demonstrates that highly specialized service businesses can achieve rapid profitability, potentially inspiring new entrants to target untapped personal‑care niches in China’s growing urban markets.
What happened
Zhang Xiaoqiao, 32, opened the first Suma itch‑scratching outlet in Shenzhen’s Baoan District in early May. A month later he launched a second location in the Futian District.
The two stores together bring in about 100,000 yuan (US$15,000) each month. Staff at Suma use specially designed pointed gloves to provide the service.
The rapid opening of two sites in a single city shows that niche personal‑care services can generate significant revenue in urban China. Zhang’s model may encourage other entrepreneurs to explore similar specialized offerings and could lead to further expansion of the brand across the region.
