President Nikos Christodoulides announced a suite of measures aimed at deepening citizen involvement in Cypriot governance. The ‘citizens legislative initiative’ lets citizens gather 5,000 signatures to compel parliament or the government to act on their proposals. All 17‑year‑olds will be automatically added to the electoral roll, expanding the electorate. A forthcoming Council of Ministers meeting will feature youth ministers presenting ideas directly to the executive.
