Cyprus Unites for World Cleanup Day
WHY IT MATTERS
The collective efforts of Cypriot volunteers will contribute to the global World Cleanup Day results, highlighting the importance of community-driven initiatives in tackling the waste crisis and promoting eco-consciousness.
What happened
On September 19, 2026, volunteers across Cyprus will gather for three simultaneous cleanups in Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos, marking World Cleanup Day. Organized by City Friends Club, the events aim to make a visible difference in the cities and contribute to the global movement tackling the waste crisis.
Volunteers will collect litter, enjoy music, and receive snacks and drinks. The results from Cyprus will become part of the global World Cleanup Day impact, available on the World Cleanup Day website after the event.
The Limassol Cleanup is supported by AdTech Holding, an international group of adtech companies with its team based in Limassol. City Friends Club has been actively cleaning key areas across Limassol since 2021, collecting 465,640 kg of garbage with the help of over 3,000 volunteers.
