Clear Adds TSA PreCheck Enrollment to U.S. Airports, Bundling Offers Cost Savings

Clear, the paid expedited‑security service, has become an official TSA PreCheck enrollment provider since 2024. Travelers can now start the PreCheck application online and finish it at any of Clear’s dozens of airport locations or hundreds of retail sites, without an appointment. New applicants who bundle a five‑year TSA PreCheck membership with Clear+ pay $219 total—$219 for the PreCheck and the first year of Clear+, which normally costs $219 per year—effectively getting PreCheck at no extra cost if they already plan to pay for Clear+. Existing Clear customers or TSA PreCheck members can also renew through Clear, with the renewal process beginning up to six months before expiration. While Clear is one of three authorized providers (Idemia and Telos), the price and convenience of bundling may make it the best option for frequent flyers, especially those who can use credit‑card statement credits that cover both programs. Credit‑card offers from American Express and other issuers can further reduce the out‑of‑pocket cost. However, travelers who do not intend to use Clear+ may find other enrollment providers cheaper, so comparing prices and nearby locations remains advisable.
