Cyprus Stock Exchange to Suspend Trading in Treasury Bills
WHY IT MATTERS
The suspension and delisting of Treasury Bills are crucial steps to ensure a smooth transition and protect investors' interests in the Cyprus financial market.
What happened
The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) will temporarily halt trading in the 7th issue of Cyprus' 13-week Treasury Bills from October 20 to 22. This suspension is necessary to clear outstanding transactions before the securities are removed from the exchange on October 23.
The Treasury Bills will be delisted from both the CSE and the Central Securities Depository and Registry on the same day.
The decision aims to protect investors and is being carried out under Article 183 of the Securities and Cyprus Stock Exchange Law.
