Cyprus, Germany Explore Energy Storage and Electric Mobility Partnerships
WHY IT MATTERS
The partnership could accelerate Cyprus’s renewable energy integration, strengthen its energy security, and boost the competitiveness of its economy through technology transfer and new business opportunities.
What happened
A German business delegation has arrived in Cyprus to launch a multi‑day program of B2B meetings and a roundtable aimed at deepening cooperation in energy storage, smart grids and electric mobility. From October 13 to 16, the Employers and Industrialists Federation (Oev) will host dozens of targeted sessions at its offices, bringing together German companies, Cypriot businesses, the distribution system operator, universities and other stakeholders.
The discussions focus on the technologies and infrastructure Cyprus needs to boost renewable integration, improve grid performance and expand electric‑vehicle charging networks.
Five German firms, invited by the German‑Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce on behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, will showcase solutions in photovoltaics, integrated energy systems and power inverters, with the goal of forging joint projects and commercial agreements.
