Cyprus and Italy to Deepen Shipping Ties at Limassol Business Forum
WHY IT MATTERS
By linking Cypriot and Italian shipping firms and policymakers, the forum will create direct contacts that can translate into new joint ventures and strengthen Mediterranean trade links.
What happened
Cyprus and Italy will deepen shipping ties at a business forum in Limassol on Oct. 9, 2026.
The event, organised by the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEL) and the Italian Embassy, will convene government and business leaders from both countries at the DP World terminal. It follows a May 27 roundtable that brought together officials, institutional organisations and companies to discuss energy, infrastructure, port development, shipping, industrial technologies, defence, and Mediterranean logistics.
The forum will focus on shipping and broader economic issues, followed by a networking lunch and B2G/B2B meetings. Participants will have the chance to establish direct contacts and identify new partnership opportunities, building on the momentum of the earlier meeting.
