Eurobank Supports Youth Innovation as Cyprus Boosts Maritime, Digital Asset and International Partnerships
WHY IT MATTERS
These events underscore Cyprus’s strategy to nurture young entrepreneurs, deepen maritime and digital‑asset sectors, and strengthen ties with key global partners, positioning the island as a dynamic hub for innovation and international trade.
What happened
At the ninth annual Youth Entrepreneurship Awards held on 7 October at the Presidential Palace, Eurobank’s general manager Nicolas Panayi praised the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) for recognising entrepreneurs under 40, including those working abroad. The ceremony, backed by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry and other partners, highlighted contributions across industry, technology, tourism and research.
In parallel, the Italy‑Cyprus Maritime Business Forum opened in Limassol on 9 October, bringing shipowners, port operators and insurers together to discuss sustainable ports, shipping regulation and investment opportunities. Meanwhile, digital‑asset firm Teroxx announced a new headquarters in Nicosia, a move welcomed by Invest Cyprus as evidence of the island’s growing appeal to technology and financial services.
Additional developments include AmCham Cyprus’s policy paper urging stronger ties with the United States, India’s cultural cooperation talks, and a Cyprus‑Greece business forum in Athens.
