Cyprus has been designated as one of the safest countries for Israeli travellers, according to a new assessment by Israel's National Security Council. The council's evaluation, released ahead of the Jewish holidays and the Jewish New Year, places Cyprus in the lowest risk level, alongside Greece, the United States, Italy, and the United Arab Emirates. This designation does not imply changes to existing travel advice but aims to enhance vigilance. The council warns that travellers should be cautious and avoid displaying Israeli or Jewish symbols, posting their location in real-time, and engaging in demonstrations or political confrontations. Those who have served in the Israeli armed forces are advised to remove or hide relevant information from social media. The assessment highlights Iran and its supported organisations as the main global terrorist threat against Israeli and Jewish targets.
