Deportees Describe Harrowing Treatment by ICE Before Being Sent to Liberia

Ten deportees who were sent to Liberia have recounted their experiences of alleged abusive or violent treatment by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They spent months in detention before being deported to countries where they had no ties. The deportees described their time in detention as harrowing, with some reporting physical and emotional abuse. They also expressed frustration at being sent to countries with which they had no connection. The deportees' accounts highlight concerns about the treatment of migrants in U. S. detention centers.
