DJI Unveils Romo 2 Robovac with Quiet Operation, Obstacle‑Avoidance, and Local‑Only Data Mode

DJI announced the second‑generation Romo 2 robovac, offering quieter operation, stronger suction, and improved climbing ability over small steps and obstacles. The line includes a transparent P2 model and an opaque A2 model. Both versions feature enhanced navigation that can detect and avoid cables and other obstacles as small as 2 mm, as well as transparent surfaces such as mirrors and glass. A new local‑only data mode addresses the security concerns that plagued the original Romo, limiting data transmission to the device’s local network. The models also incorporate a “human‑like reasoning and concept transfer” system that reportedly improves obstacle handling.
