DR Congo: Community Risk Analysis in Oïcha and Walikale Territories
WHY IT MATTERS
The analysis will inform the response to the Ebola outbreak and help protect the local communities from the risks associated with the disease.
What happened
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has conducted a community risk analysis in the Oïcha and Walikale territories of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Nord-Kivu province. The analysis, conducted in partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), HEAL AFRICA, AHD, SOFEPADI, SWID, AUDICO, and UNIFCM, aims to assess the risks associated with the 17th Ebola virus disease outbreak.
The analysis focuses on the Early Alert System (EAS) and Alert and Action Plan (AAP) in the affected areas. The findings of the analysis will inform the response to the outbreak and help mitigate the risks to the local communities.
The analysis is part of the broader efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in the region.
