Ebola Response: Ituri Province Records 80,090 Travelers, 86% Cross Health Zone Boundaries

Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Ituri Province have released a weekly population flow monitoring dashboard for the Ebola virus disease response. The latest report, covering 31 August to 6 September 2026, tallied 80,090 travellers passing through seven active control points and conducted 4,466 individual interviews. Analysis shows that 86 percent of journeys crossed a health‑zone boundary, while 5 percent of travellers left the province during the period. The dashboard, updated weekly, will expand its geographic coverage as the monitoring network grows, providing real‑time data on mobility patterns that can guide outbreak response activities. By mapping routes and traveller profiles, the data supports targeted interventions and efficient allocation of medical resources across affected zones.
