US Grants $225 Million to DRC Humanitarian Fund to Aid Nearly One Million People

The United States has made a second contribution of $225 million to the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Humanitarian Fund (FH RDC). The donation, announced by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, is earmarked for vital assistance to almost one million people facing acute hardship. It arrives at a time when humanitarian needs are rising while overall funding is shrinking. The funds will be deployed through three consecutive and complementary allocations, all of which align with the revised 2026 Humanitarian Response Plan. That plan refocuses objectives on the most severe needs across the country, ensuring that aid reaches the populations most in danger.
