DR Congo: Ebola Response Efforts Underway in North Kivu Province

As of August 31, 2026, 48 operational partners are contributing to the response to the 17th Ebola outbreak in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The response is led by the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene, and Social Security, in collaboration with the Incident Management System (SGI). The majority of partners are national actors, with 26 national NGOs (54%), followed by 14 international NGOs (29%), 4 UN agencies (8%), 2 government structures (4%), and 2 observers and other entities (4%). Partners are working in several priority areas, including epidemiological surveillance, case management, prevention and control of infections, water, sanitation, and hygiene, and communication and community engagement. Logistical support is also being provided, including cold chain support for vaccination and secure transportation of laboratory samples.
