DR Congo: New Humanitarian Fund Allocation for Cash-Based Interventions

The Democratic Republic of the Congo's Humanitarian Fund has launched a new allocation of reserve funds, primarily funded by American sources, totaling approximately $200 million. The allocation is divided into two phases, AR4 and AR5. In the first phase, AR4, approximately $85 million was allocated, with $18 million designated for multi-purpose cash transfers. However, no multi-purpose cash transfer envelope will be allocated for the second phase, AR5. Due to time and funding constraints, the Fund has sought targeted recommendations from partners within the Cash Working Group coordination. Recommendations prioritized existing consortia, capable NGOs, and certain national actors to ensure rapid implementation in the most vulnerable and priority areas.
