New Zealand Government Invests in Specialist Education Infrastructure

The New Zealand Government has announced the construction of a new specialist school in Drury, the first to be built in the country in 50 years. The school, one of three new specialist schools, will cater to students with high and complex needs. The facility will feature six off-site-manufactured classrooms, whānau and therapy spaces, outdoor learning areas, and a hard court. The school is expected to open in Term 1, 2028. Additionally, the Government has secured land for a future primary school in Drury East to meet the growing demand for education in the area. The land purchase is underway and expected to be completed in the coming months.
