ICRC Distributes 22 Tonnes of Medical Supplies to Yemen’s Frontline Hospitals Amid Escalating Conflict

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delivered 22 tonnes of essential medical supplies to Sana’a today, replenishing the dwindling stockpiles that frontline hospitals rely on to treat a growing number of war‑injured patients. The shipment is part of a broader emergency response to intensified fighting that has saturated health facilities across Yemen, including the Marib governorate where a mobile surgical team has been operating at the General Hospital since August 23. The ICRC is rapidly distributing the supplies to priority hospitals and health facilities nationwide, while also bolstering the Yemen Red Crescent’s network of over 50 ambulances that run on both sides of the front lines. Despite these efforts, the ICRC warns that the scale of the crisis could soon outstrip the available humanitarian capacity, leaving the organization as the sole international humanitarian presence in some areas.
