This move comes ahead of a meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland on September 1 to discuss measures against the 'shadow fleet'.
The IRINI mission, established in 2020 to monitor Libya's arms embargo, has expanded its mandate to include combating the 'shadow fleet' in 2026.
