What happened
Discover has revealed its fourth-quarter rotating categories, offering 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined eligible purchases across entertainment, restaurants, and utilities. Eligible cardholders can activate the categories through the Discover mobile app or online account.
The categories are active from October 1 to December 31, and purchases made after activation will earn the elevated rate.
Cardholders can earn $75 in cash back at the 5% rate during Q4, with additional purchases earning the standard 1% cash-back rate.
