Siller Family to Retrace 9/11 Hero’s Final Run in Tunnel to Towers Tour
WHY IT MATTERS
The walk honors Stephen Siller’s sacrifice, reinforces national remembrance, and supports the ongoing mission to provide mortgage‑free homes for families of fallen first responders.
What happened
On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, the family of FDNY firefighter Stephen Siller will lead a private walk that mirrors the route the hero took on the morning of the attacks. Frank Siller and other relatives will run through the Brooklyn‑Battery Tunnel, the path Stephen used after his shift ended, before joining hundreds of friends and supporters at the FDNY Ten House.
The walk marks the final stop of the Tunnel to Towers “Steel Across America” tour, which has carried a 21‑foot steel beam from the South Tower and Siller’s story across the country since May.
The event also highlights the organization’s 343 Homes Initiative, aimed at delivering mortgage‑free homes to families of fallen first responders and veterans.
