FAO Director-General Honors Queen Sirikit's Vision for Rural Communities in Thailand

What happened
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Director-General QU Dongyu visited Thailand to reaffirm FAO's partnership with the country and pay tribute to the legacy of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The Director-General participated in a ceremony honoring the royal benevolence of Queen Sirikit and met with Thai officials to discuss rural development and innovation.
He also visited the Non-Agricultural Occupational Promotion and Development Center and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology to explore community-based activities and scientific research.
The visit highlighted Thailand's efforts to connect tradition and innovation in agriculture and food systems.
