Hilton, Marriott, Kimpton and Airbnb Roll Out New Guest‑Friendly Features
WHY IT MATTERS
These updates ease traveler logistics, boost loyalty engagement, and set new standards for hospitality service, giving guests more control and reducing friction during stays.
What happened
Hilton Honors members can now settle their checkout bill with points through the mobile app, a service that began in 150 hotels and is slated to reach about 6,000 properties next year. Hilton’s business travel arm, Hilton for Business, has added tools that let companies book stays for staff with a single login, view all team reservations in one place, and modify or cancel bookings while keeping duty‑of‑care visibility. Kimpton’s new “Curious Palate” program launches worldwide culinary pairings and chef‑led experiences, featuring items such as a spiced‑rum holiday pour and a daily martini‑and‑fries combo. Marriott’s Luxury Collection is expanding its expeditions, offering trips to Kyoto with an artist, classic‑car tours of Italy, and beach‑fishing in Turks & Caicos. Beyond Green now includes El Silencio Lodge & Spa in Costa Rica and Hotel Món Sant Benet in Spain. Airbnb has tightened its “chore” policy, limiting host requests to tasks like placing dishes in the sink or separating trash, while forbidding demands for washing dishes, starting laundry, or removing bedding.
These changes aim to streamline guest experiences, reduce friction, and provide travelers with more control over their stays.
