What happened
At the Lone Star Le Mans in Austin, the BMW M Team WRT faced a tough weekend as the second half of the FIA WEC season began. The #15 BMW M Hybrid V8 finished eighth, earning points after a victory in São Paulo.
Its sister car, however, did not score. Despite the mixed results, drivers Robin Frijns and René Rast kept their lead in the overall standings.
The points from Austin help the team stay in contention for the championship, while the missed points from the second car may prompt a review of strategy for the remaining races.
