WHY IT MATTERS

Eligible Amex cardholders now have a new spot for a latte, stroopwafel, and preflight downtime at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, with access to the lounge's amenities and services.

What happened

The Points Guy got a sneak peek of the new 6,000-square-foot Centurion Lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, set to open on September 17 for eligible American Express cardholders. The lounge draws inspiration from Dutch art, culture, and landscapes, featuring a palette of blue, green, and earth tones inspired by Amsterdam's canals and waterways. The space offers a range of seating options, including armchairs, tables, booths, and group seating, as well as a dedicated coffee bar serving locally sourced coffee from the Netherlands. The buffet menu features Dutch and regional European options, with items such as bitterballen, Amsterdam sliders, truffle mac and cheese, and meatballs. The menu will rotate about every three weeks, giving frequent visitors some variety. The lounge also has a bar serving specialty cocktails, including the Canal House, made with genever, dry vermouth, olive brine, and an orange peel.
