West Gate Fellows Develop Climate-Friendly Technologies
WHY IT MATTERS
These innovations could lead to increased domestic production of critical minerals and more affordable geothermal energy, reducing the US's reliance on foreign resources and promoting a cleaner energy future.
What happened
The West Gate fellows, a group of seven startup founders, are working on various climate-friendly projects. Four of the fellows, including those inspired by Tony Stark and Obi Wan Kenobi, are developing technologies to make critical minerals in the US, generate affordable geothermal energy, and build ultralight and advanced batteries.
The fellows are receiving guidance from experts at the National Laboratory (NLR).
Their work aims to reduce the country's reliance on foreign minerals and promote sustainable energy sources.
