New Zealand Launches Upgraded MyMSD Jobs Platform to Connect Job Seekers with Employers

The New Zealand Ministry of Social Development has replaced its older Kimi Mahi Mai – Find a Job site with a new, technology‑driven portal called MyMSD Jobs. The upgrade, announced by Minister Louise Upston, adds automated job‑matching tools that compare a job seeker’s qualifications, experience, skills and strengths with available vacancies. As of 10 August, more than 94,000 clients who are required to work while receiving benefits have updated their profiles and can now view jobs that match their skill sets. The platform currently offers access to over 7,700 positions listed across 2,600 active vacancies, and users can apply directly through the site. Phase one of the rollout focuses on improving the experience for job seekers; phase two will introduce a dedicated employer portal that allows companies to post, edit and manage vacancies and view matched applicants. Early feedback from both staff and users has been positive, with a high volume of visits and active use of the self‑service tools. The initiative is part of a broader transformation effort aimed at making services more online, freeing staff to provide targeted support and ultimately helping more families move out of benefit dependency.
