Cloudflare Introduces Worker-Level Access Controls
WHY IT MATTERS
Cloudflare's worker-level access controls provide a more secure way to manage access to applications, reducing the risk of unintended changes and data exposure.
What happened
Cloudflare has introduced worker-level access controls, allowing users to grant specific access to teammates and agents. This feature enables users to limit access to a specific worker, preventing agents from making changes to other resources in their account.
Four new roles have been introduced: Metadata Read-Only, Content Read-Only, Editor, and Admin. These roles can be applied at one of three scopes: Developer Platform level, Product level, or Resource level.
The new access controls are available today for all customers and can be assigned to a specific user or created as an API token with scoped access. This feature is expected to be extended to other Cloudflare Developer Platform products, including D1, R2, and KV.
