Google Rolls Out Sleep‑Aware Update for Pixel Buds 2A and Pro 2
WHY IT MATTERS
The sleep‑aware feature enhances nighttime listening and privacy, while tap‑to‑mute improves call control, making the earbuds more convenient for everyday use.
What happened
Google has released a software update for its Pixel Buds 2A and Pro 2 earbuds that adds several new features, including sleep detection that works with the Pixel Watch. When the watch signals that the user has fallen asleep, the earbuds pause music, silence notifications and disable touch controls.
The update also introduces tap‑to‑mute, letting users mute or unmute the microphone with a quick tap during calls, but only when paired with a Pixel phone.
The update was first teased in August and is now available to all users.
