Google Unveils Gemini 3.7 Flash, Rapidly Following 3.6 Flash Release

Google has rolled out Gemini 3.7 Flash, a new iteration of its Gemini family that replaces the 3.6 Flash model released just three weeks earlier. The update is described as a “workhorse” version built on core optimizations and developer feedback, aiming to improve coding and agentic performance while offering a lower introductory price to compete with cheaper alternatives. Senior Director Tulsee Doshi highlighted measurable gains in coding benchmarks: the FrontierCode 1.1 Main score jumped from 34.4 % to 43.6 %, and DeepSWE v1.1 rose from 49 % to 65.3 %. Web development metrics also improved, with the WebDev Arena score climbing from 1,538 to 1,588. In complex document processing, the GDP.pdf benchmark increased to 34 % from 22 % in the previous Flash release. AutomationBench, which tests business workflow execution, saw a rise to 30.4 % from 17 %. These enhancements suggest Google is tightening its focus on practical, developer‑friendly capabilities while keeping pricing competitive in a crowded AI market.
